Fulham vs Everton - Premier League preview and team news

Sunday 30 March 2014

Fulham, the Premier League’s bottom club, face a crucial game on Sunday as they meet an Everton side which still has Champions League ambitions.

Felix Magath’s team started quite well away to Manchester City last time out, but the award of a penalty to the hosts ruined their game-plan. The sending off of Fernando Amorebieta in the second half allowed the floodgates to open and Fulham’s goals against column to look even worse, but it is at Craven Cottage where their fate will lie, and they will still fancy their chances of staying in the Premier League.

Despite that, the West London club face visitors who will be brimming with confidence after a wonderful performance and a comprehensive victory at Newcastle United, where Ross Barkley and Leon Osman both hit fine goals. Their run of four straight wins means they are now back with a shout of grabbing a top four place, particularly with Arsenal stumbling so badly as they are at present.

Amorebieta is suspended for a Fulham side who are already without Damien Duff and Konstantinos Mitroglou. To make matters worse, Scott Parker, Dan Burn and Ashkan Dejagah are all major doubts.

Everton winger Steven Pienaar still has at least two more weeks left on the sidelines, where he is joined by Darron Gibson, Arouna Kone, Bryan Oviedo and Monaco loanee Lacina Traore.
