Fabianski nears Arsenal exit as Celtic interest increases

By A Different League staff

Monday 31 March 2014

Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has emerged as one of the main Summer transfer targets for Scottish Premier League champions Celtic, the Daily Mail reports.

The 28-year-old Polish stopper is in his seventh season with Gunners, following his move from Legia Warsaw, but has only played 31 league matches in that time, finding himself behind compatriot Wojciech Szczesny for the majority of the time.

Fabianski's contract expires at the end of the current season, and the 'keeper is reportedly looking for an Arsenal exit, in search of first team football, and the interest of Celtic, and the Champions League football they can offer, may be enough to convince him to move to the SPL.

Any move for Fabianski to Celtic would almost certainly mean that highly-rated English stopper Fraser Forster would be on his way to a Premier League club, with a number of high-profile club's said to be interested in his services.
