Aston Villa vs Fulham - Premier League preview and team news

Fulham will be hoping to give themselves a fighting chance of staying in the Premier League by taking all three points away to Aston Villa.

After their famous win over Chelsea, the two games since have been a major disappointment for Aston Villa. In both matches, against Stoke City and Manchester United, they have taken early leads before going on to lose 4-1. Fortunately for Paul Lambert and his team, they have an eight point lead over the bottom three, meaning that just one more win should be enough to ensure safety.

Looking to condemn Villa to their 10th home defeat of the campaign, bottom club Fulham are beginning to run out of games as they battle to stay up. The performance against Everton last time out was a good one, but the Merseyside club had the more clinical touch in front of goal. Manager Felix Magath, however, will continue to make some bold selection choices, with youngsters Moussa Dembele and Cauley Woodrow both being thrown in over recent weeks.

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke will now miss the rest of the season with a serious injury, meaning that Andreas Weimann is set to lead the line. Gabriel Agbonlahor is a slight doubt due to illness, but Karim El Ahmadi should return.

The visitors are likely to again go with youth in attack with Kostas Mitroglu injured and Darren Bent unable to face his parent club. Fernando Amorebieta is back from suspension.
