Anelka set for Brazil move

Sunday 06 April 2014

Sacked West Brom striker Nicolas Anelka could be heading to Atletico Mineiro and the Brazilian league after the club’s president appeared to confirm a move was in the offing, according to the Daily Mail.

President Alexandre Kalil looked to offer confirmation that the club were chasing Anelka on his Twitter account after several reports that the 35 year old Frenchman would beon his way following his contract termination by the Baggies.

“Anelka is a rooster,” Kalil tweeted to his followers - a reference to the clubs current cockerel mascot.

The former Chelsea and Arsenal striker left the club a disgraced figure after his contract was swiftly ton up by West Brom following his extremely controversial quenelle gesture after scoring against West Ham - a celebration that ultimately saw him handed a five match ban for its anti-sematic meanings.

If the forward were to move it would be the 12th club of his career, including loan spells, and the seventh league he has played in.
