Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesney is confident that his side can end their nine year wait for a trophy by winning the FA Cup this season, according to Sky Sports.

The Gunners are currently favourites to win the domestic cup with a semi-final against Wigan approaching on Saturday.

Despite Arsenal’s late crumble in the 2011 League Cup final and slipping away from the Premier league title this season, Szczesney believes that his side have become matured and that experience will carry them to a title.

"We had a bad experience recently at Wembley in the League Cup final," said Szczesney.

"But we've matured a lot and we've got a lot more experienced players. I think that the likes of Jack (Wilshere) and Aaron Ramsey and myself were only 18 or 19 at the time.

"We're three years older now, we've got three years of experience under our belts, and we're more prepared for it."

The 23-year-old admitted that his side were favourites, who are now one of just two Premier League clubs left in the competition alongside Hull City.

The Shot stopper admitted that he hoped it would be a great day for the club and finally end the nine year trophy drought.

"It's huge. We know that we're in a very strong position to win the FA Cup this year, and we're two games away from doing so,” added the Polish international.

"We're at Wembley, so we know how important it is for the fans and all the players.

"I hope it's going to be a very positive day for the club."
