Thursday 10 April 2014

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been fined and received a warning over his future conduct by the FA after he was sent off during his side’s 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa, reports Sky Sports.

The Portuguese found himself sent off after he entered the pitch following the dismissal of Brazilian midfielder Ramires to speak to match official Chris Foy - and has been landed with an £8,000 fine.

While he denied the charge of improper conduct it has been proved at a personal hearing with an independent regulatory commission this week.

An FA statement read: “Mourinho denied a breach of FA rule E3 in that his behaviour in re-entering the field of play and approaching the match referee (Foy) in an attempt to speak to him, in or around the 90th minute of the game against Aston Villa on March 15, 2014, amounted to improper conduct.

“However, the charge was found proven at a personal hearing on Wednesday, April 9.”

At the time Mourinho had claimed that he was attempting to draw attention to the fact that Ramires had been pushed by substitute Gabriel Agbonlahor - Ramires’ two footed tackle had flared tempers and sparked a mass touchline scuffle.

This is the second time this season Mourinho has suffered such a punishment.

The Blues manager was also sent to the stands against Cardiff back in October and subsequently charged by the FA, before another £8,000 fine was handed out to him.
