Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has declined to say if he is placing greater importance on winning the FA Cup or ensuring the Gunners qualify for the Champions League this season, Sky Sports has reported.

The London club are through to the cup semi-final and face holders Wigan Athletic on Saturday as they go in search of a first trophy since 2005. But with Arsenal losing to Everton on Sunday, their grip on fourth place in the Premier League is a little tenuous as should the Toffees win their game in hand against Crystal Palace, they will leap into the top four.

“I will not choose because we must respond well after our game against Everton last week because that's where our future lies,” Wenger said.

“We need to have the capacity to respond with a strong performance in the next game,” he continued. “It is important to focus on Wigan who have already beaten Manchester City this season at Man City - as well as last year's final - and we respect Wigan for that.”

The other semi-final is being contested by Hull City and League one side Sheffield United.
