West Bromwich Albion will be hoping to move another step closer to safety by collecting what would only be their fourth home win of the season against Tottenham.

On-loan Marseille winger Morgan Amalfitano proved his worth to Albion by scoring the goal that beat Norwich City in their previous game, a result which gave the Baggies a crucial five-point cushion over the bottom three. The return of Jonas Olsson to central defence was also key to Pepe Mel’s second win in charge, although with only 32 points on the board, there is still some work to do to guarantee another season of top-flight football.

Speculation continues to surround Tottenham Head Coach Tim Sherwood, whose future is under considerable doubt. However, the players could not have been accused of not playing for the 45-year-old on Monday as they put Sunderland to the sword in a game which Spurs dominated from start to finish, and recovered well to the shock of going behind. Despite that, a top-four finish still looks unlikely.

The home side are without Zoltan Gera, who picked up a hamstring injury against Norwich. James Morrison is also a slight doubt, but Billy Jones, Chris Brunt and Claudio Yacob could all return from injury.

Tottenham, who have a good record at the Hawthorns in recent seasons, could name an unchanged line-up with Etienne Capoue, Roberto Soldado, Jan Vertonghen and Kyle Walker all set to miss out once again.
