Liverpool clash is not a title decider, says Yaya Toure
Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has claimed that the showdown with Liverpool on Sunday will not decide the title, Mcfc.com reports.
Liverpool go into the match-up as Premier League leaders although title rivals Manchester City have two games in hand which could prove crucial as to where the trophy ends up at the end of the season.
Despite the two sides looking to get a crucial three points over their opponents, Toure believes there are still too many games that could decide the title with City still to play seven games.
“Sunday won’t decide the title because there are too many games still to play,” Toure declared.
“We still have two games in hand and for me, the most dangerous games are the ones against teams who are fighting to stay in the Premier League.
“Those teams can create problems and I think both Liverpool and Chelsea – like us – both have a couple of these teams to play.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has also said that he wants to go to Anfield with the intention of grabbing all three points from Liverpool.
The Ivory Coast international believes that the attack-minded nature of the two teams will create an entertaining spectacle as both sides will be looking for a vital victory.
“It’s going to be a very exciting game and I can’t wait to play in it,” added Toure.
“We have to focus because we want to come back with three points and we know it’s going to be very difficult but we just have to concentrate on playing to the best of our abilities."
“It’s important we don’t lose this game so if we don’t win, we need to draw because at this stage, every point is so precious.”
