Henderson: Youth will match City’s experience
Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson believes that his side’s youth will be more than a match for Manchester City’s experience when the two sides meet on Sunday, Sky Sports reports.
The Reds will go into the match as League leaders but Manchester City have two games in hand on the Merseyside club, which ultimately could prove too much should Liverpool suffer defeat.
Although the match is being called a ‘title decider’, Henderson believes that Liverpool have more than enough to take all three points from their title rivals and secure themselves at the top of the table.
"They have some very good players. Yaya Toure is one of them, but they have other great players in other areas so everyone needs to make sure they are ready and I am sure we will be and right up for it.
"We have some good players ourselves and if everyone performs to the best of their ability we will have a good chance.
"We have a lot of young lads in the team with a lot of energy and great work-rate, so I think that has really showed, pressing high up the pitch.”
Henderson also praised the confidence of his club so far this season and believes that the fans help push them forward, and may give them that extra jolt needed against City.
Despite the pressure facing the young Liverpool team, the England midfielder has said that they must treat it as just another game as they still have more important matches awaiting them.
"It is a big game but at the same time we have five big games left,” added Henderson.
"It is a very important game, it is a massive one, but we have to treat it as another game.
"The fans have always been brilliant but I am sure it will be bouncing again on Sunday and they give us a little advantage."
