Torres on Inter’s radar
Inter Milan general director Marco Fassone has confirmed that Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is one of their top transfer targets, Sky Sports reports.
The Spaniard has been surrounded by rumours linking him with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the summer, despite having two years left on his contract as well as manager Jose Mourinho stating that the player has a future with the club.
Torres has always struggled to recreate the form that made him one of the most prolific scorers at Liverpool after his big money move to Chelsea but Fassone has said that the 30-year-old would be a good signing for the Italian side.
"He is one of the names that interest us, as admitted by our president Erick Thohir in recent days,” said Fassone.
"Then you will discover in due time who will be the player we will focus on.
"Now our goal is to get a place in the Europa League.
"It would be a problem not to play in Europe for two consecutive seasons."
Torres has insisted that he will see out the rest of his contract at Chelsea despite failing to hold down a place in the first team and could be making an exit if the right club come knocking.
Fassone admitted that the Italian side are currently looking at a number of options and are yet to decide on a top transfer target but Torres is firmly in the mix.
