Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis believes the board at Selhurst Park deserve much of the credit for the Eagles’ impressive league position, reports Sky Sports.

Palace are 12th in the table, and look to be on course to secure their first ever Premier League survival, and manager Pulis has received many plaudits for the upturn in fortunes at the club since his arrival in November.

Palace have a seven point lead over any club in the relegation spots, and Pulis has even been suggested as a potential Manager of the Year candidate by Aston Villa incumbent Paul Lambert, but the former Stoke boss has insisted that some of the credit should go to his club’s board.

He said: “I'll be absolutely delighted if we can stay up. Especially to do it for the supporters who have been excellent at the club, and the four directors have got to take a lot of credit.

“They've bought the club when it was in a lot of trouble and they've seen it through to promotion to the Premier League. And if we do it, they deserve a lot of credit too.

“Everton have been on a strong run but I don't really worry too much about them, all I care about is us and what we need to do to get a result.”

Palace have been relegated from the top flight four times since the Premier League’s inauguration in 1992, and so survival in the competition would add a new chapter in the club’s history books.

Pulis replaced former Eagles boss Ian Holloway, who left in order to make way for a manager who felt he could guide the London outfit to survival.
