Giroud happy with goal tally
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has admitted that he is happy with his goal tally this season after he passed the 20-goal mark, according to Sky Sports.
The Frenchman reached 20 goals in all competitions with his go-ahead strike in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over West Ham on Tuesday.
This season is already an improvement on the 17 goals he netted last year and he is looking to end this season on a high.
"I enjoy my stats because when you are a striker you think that we are looking for the stats and assists as well," said Giroud.
"I am OK with my stats but I know the team will need me again for the last [four] Premier League games. So I need to score again and again."
Arsenal are currently in fourth and the last Champions League spot but face stern competition from Everton in the final few games of the season.
With just one point separating the two, Giroud is hoping that Manchester United will pose Everton too much of a test to help the Londoners secure Champions League football next season.
"We need to win the last four 'finals' because we don't have our destiny in our hands," added Giroud, speaking before Everton's loss to Crystal Palace surrendered the advantage to Arsenal.
"I hope Everton will lose against maybe Manchester United this weekend. We keep focusing on what we have to do and win our games.
"After that we will see but first we have to do the job."
