Fulham can move out of the relegation zone and give themselves a superb chance of pulling off a great escape if they win at Tottenham in Saturday’s early kick-off.

The home side’s slim chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League were all but ended as they drew at West Bromwich Albion in their previous game. It was, however, a fine comeback as they had found themselves 3-0 down inside half an hour thanks to defending which Head Coach Tim Sherwood described as horrendous. His focus will now simply be on picking up as many points as possible.

Two Hugo Rodallega goals in the space of two weeks have given Fulham fresh impetus in the race for survival, particularly the strike which beat nearest rivals Norwich City. It was also a game in which goalkeeper David Stockdale shone, and despite manager Felix Magath’s dissatisfaction at the performance, it is results that count, and if he can mastermind Fulham’s second straight win at White Hart Lane, he would not complain.

Tottenham have midfielder Mousa Dembele back available, but are still without Kyle Walker, Etienne Capoue, Roberto Soldado, Erik Lamela, Jan Vertonghen and Michael Dawson.

Lewis Holtby misses out for Fulham, as he is unable to face his parent club, so the in-form Ashkan Dejagah is set to take his place.
