Moyes frustrated at Man Utd sacking

Sacked Manchester United boss David Moyes believes that he should have been given more time to rebuild the club’s squad, according to Sky Sports .

Sky Sports News sources understand that while Moyes accepts his sacking was down to poor results and a very disappointing season - United lay seventh, are unable to qualify for the Champions League this term and are guaranteed their lowest points tally in Premier League history, the Scotsman has been left frustrated by the decision.

Moyes in fact has the second highest win percentage of any United manager despite statistics overwhelmingly against his 10 months in charge at Old Trafford.

The former Everton manager had repeatedly stressed that a major rebuild was needed at the club but oversaw two unsuccessful transfer windows, with only Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata joining for big money.

Sky Sports has also been told that United made approaches for many targets that the public did not know about, while also failing in public pursuits of Cesc Fabregas, Ander Herrera and Leighton Baines.

It is also believed that some of the current playing squad failed to adapt to Moyes’ training methods and struggled to build the relationships that his predecessor Sir alex Ferguson had built with them.

In the meantime veteran player coach Ryan Giggs has been put in charge of the first team for this weekends game against Norwich, but is not thought to be among the runners for the permanent job.

Louis Van Gaal, linked with Tottenham Hotspur also, is favourite to land the position while Carlo Ancelotti could be a candidate.
