Everton plan to keep Traore
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has said he would like to keep on loan striker Lucina Traore at the club beyond the end of his current loan spell, Sky Sports has reported.
The imposing striker, who stands at six foot eight inches, signed in January on loan for the rest of the season from AS Monaco who weeks earlier had signed from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
Although injury has blighted his stay at Goodison Park - he has made just one appearance in the FA Cup against Swansea when he scored, Martinez has confirmed he is a fan of the Ivory Coast international.
And the Everton boss believes if the club secure European football this year he would like Traore to extend his stay.
Martinez said: "It depends on our European demands, if we are competing in Europe then we will need four strikers," Martinez told the Liverpool Echo.
"Lacina is someone we really believe can bring something different to the team and he is someone we will try to see if we can get an opportunity to sit down and see what the next chapter is."
Traore boasted a good goal scoring record in his short time with Russian side Anzhi, scoring 13 goals in 29 league appearances, while he has scored four goals in seven appearances for his country.
The Ivorian injured his hamstring during the warm up before their game against Chelsea and has been out ever since.
