Fulham vs Hull - Premier League preview and team news

Friday 25 April 2014

With the season approaching its end, Fulham can move out of the bottom three for the first time since January - at least temporarily - with a win at home to Hull City.

Under Felix Magath, Fulham still require significant improvement, but in recent games they have been unrecognisable from the side that was sinking without trace so often earlier on in the season. They more than matched Tottenham in the first half at White Hart Lane last time out, only to fall short in the second half, but as Magath has acknowledged, their fate will largely rest on their remaining home outings.

Hull will still feel that they need points to guarantee safety, knowing defeat here will see the gap between themselves and the relegation zone be reduced to four points. This is also the first of three consecutive away matches, but having thrashed Fulham 6-0 at the end of 2013, they will fancy their chances here, although confidence may be low after a heavy defeat by Arsenal, which came despite a positive start.

Fulham should have Sascha Riether back after illness, but are still waiting on the fitness of John Heitinga, Scott Parker, Mahamadou Diarra and Kieran Richardson.

Shane Long could be fit for Hull despite being forced off with a knock against Arsenal. Sone Aluko could also feature but Robbie Brady, Joe Dedgeon, Allan McGregor and Paul McShane are all out.
