Pellegrini only focused on beating Palace

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is only focused on his side’s game with Crystal Palace this weekend after refusing to comment on Jose Mourinho’s complaints over his team’s schedule,

City are currently six points behind leaders Liverpool with a game in hand, and travel to Crystal Palace this weekend as they look to put the pressure on the Anfield club.

But after recent comments from Mourinho on Chelsea’s selection for the clash on Sunday, Pellegrini kept the focus on what his side need to do.

He said: “I don't know what Chelsea or other teams are going to do in the future. The only thing we must try to do is win our games. "Is it fair? I think every team tries to make the best thing for their team. The only important thing for us is to win our game."

City’s game with Palace on Sunday kicks off two hours before the game at Anfield and Pellegrini insisted that despite the Merseyside club being the favourites for the league, his side won’t give up the title until it’s mathematically impossible.

“They have the best chance to win it of course but they still have to win their last three games. "The players here still believe (we can do win it). I think everyone who works in football knows everything can happen” he added.

Pellegrini will welcome back Yaya Toure for the Palace game after the midfielder missed the last two games through injury, but will be without David Silva and Matija Nastastic.
