Crystal Palace vs Man City - Premier League preview and team news

By Stephen Donovan

Sunday 27 April 2014

Manchester City travel to in-form Crystal Palace knowing that they must win to retain any hope of regaining the Premier League title.

There are few sides in any division at present with more confidence than Crystal Palace, who have picked up five consecutive wins, with Chelsea and Everton among the high-profile scalps they have claimed in that time. Manager Tony Pulis quickly turned them from a side that was merely hoping to stay up into one that now believes they have a realistic chance of a top-half finish.

Two goals in the opening 10 minutes gave Man City the perfect start against West Bromwich Albion on Monday, and despite conceding once, they rarely looked like slipping up in the manner that they did against Sunderland the previous Wednesday. All Manuel Pellegrini’s team can do now is win their remaining games and hope Liverpool slip up, but this is the first of two difficult away trips they themselves must negotiate.

Crystal Palace have doubts over midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi and striker Marouane Chamakh, but otherwise have a fully-fit squad.

The visitors are boosted by the return of Yaya Toure from a muscle injury, but David Silva misses out along with Jesus Navas and Matija Nastasic.
