Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has praised PFA Player of the Year Luis Suarez after the Liverpool striker won the award on Sunday, Sky Sports has reported.

Ramsey was nominated for the Young Player of the Year award but lost out to Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, while Suarez took the senior prize having also been nominated last year.

“His quality is there for everybody to see,” Ramsey said of Suarez. “He's just a magnificent player.

“When you think he missed the first five or so games of the season and to score the amount of goals that he has,” Ramsey continued. “He's one of those strikers who loves to work hard as well and work for the team.”

Suarez missed the opening games of the season as he served the remainder of his 10-match ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.

Since returning Suarez has scored 30 goals in 31 games, helping the Reds to the top of the Premier League table. Brendan Rodgers’ side have a two point lead over Chelsea with two games to go, having lost to the Blues on Sunday.
