It has been confirmed by UEFA that Manchester City, along with several other European clubs, have been found guilty of breaching its rules on Financial Fair Play (FFP), according to ITV Sport.

The rules on FFP state that no club in Europe should make losses of more than €45m over a two-year period, while the sanctions for a breach could range from a fine to squad restrictions in European competitions, although expulsion from any competition is an unlikely outcome.

Paris St.Germain, who have spent big in recent seasons to help the club become a dominant force in France and become one of the contenders to win the Champions League, are also understood to have breached UEFA’s rules, with a final decision over sanctions expected on Thursday, when its club financial control board hold a meeting.

If no agreement is reached over the sanctions, or if there are any outstanding cases, they will be decided by a separate adjudicatory panel. UEFA, meanwhile, have offered settlements to each club deemed to have breached the FFP rules, the details of which could be revealed by Europe’s governing body as early as Friday.
