Liverpool set to rekindle interest in Southampton star Lallana
Liverpool could be set to reinstate their interest in Southampton and England star Adam Lallana, according to The Telegraph.
Liverpool are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to Champions League football next season, and Lallana is thought to be wanted at Anfield in order to fit in the spot behind the SAS squad – Suarez and Sturridge – in the north west next season.
Lallana has been at Southampton for almost 14 years now, but his impressive form this season has seen him reach the senior England squad, for whom he has now won three caps as Southampton performed well in the Premier League, currently residing eighth.
He played three games while on loan at Burnley – who have just been promoted back to the Premier League – back in 2007 during his time with Saints, but Brendan Rodgers’ men are keen to add him to their ranks to add yet more flair to their already potent attacking lineup.
He was also recently named in the PFA Team of the Season, but is currently sidelined with a groin injury.
