Cristiano Ronaldo has said it won’t matter if Real Madrid meet Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea in the Champions League final, ESPN has reported.

Madrid booked their place in the final, to be held in Lisbon on May 24, with a 5-0 aggregate win over holders Bayern Munich. Ronaldo scored twice on Tuesday in Germany with Sergio Ramos getting the other two goals of a 4-0 triumph.

Chelsea meet Atletico Madrid tonight in the second semi-final, which means Los Blancos will either face a city derby or a reunion with Mourinho, who spent three years at Santiago Bernabeu before leaving his post last summer and returning to the Blues.

“A final is always difficult,” Ronaldo said. “I don't care if it's Mourinho or another coach. It will be in my country and I want to win the Champions League.”

It was speculated that Mourinho and Ronaldo fell out during their time working together in Madrid, a gossip denied by Mourinho, but Ronaldo did lavish praise upon Mourinho’s successor, Carlo Ancelotti.

“Ancelotti deserves all the praise. He has changed everything,” Ronaldo said. “He has changed the mentality of the players.

“We have been losing in the semis for a long time, three or four years, but the most important thing is that now we are in a deserved final and we have our feet on the ground.”

Ronaldo scored his 15th and 16th goals of the Champions League season so far against Bayern, setting a new record for goals scored in one edition of the tournament in the process.
