Chelsea to move for Tottenham midfielder Paulinho

Chelsea could be set to make a shock move for Tottenham’s £17m midfielder Paulinho, according to The Daily Mail.

Paulinho

The Brazil international, 25, has struggled to make the impact expected of him when he arrived at White Hart Lane in July, but Chelsea are keen to take him across London in an effort to link him up with fellow Brazilians Oscar, Ramires, Willian and David Luiz at Stamford Bridge.

Real Madrid and AC Milan are also both thought to be interested in capturing the former Corinthians star, but Chelsea look set to lead the chase in a deal that would see them getting another one over their rivals in the transfer market.

Willian had looked all but set to move to Spurs from Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala in August, but a £32m bid at the eleventh hour from the Blues saw the 25-year-old opt for the Blue area of London instead.

Chelsea are thought to have handed over negotiations to FIFA agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who oversaw Oscar, Ramires and Luiz’s moves to the Bridge, and he hopes to be able to have a deal finalised for Paulinho to return from the World Cup ready to become a Chelsea player.

Let's hope so. What a rubbish player. Would be great to get rid of him.
