Tottenham Head Coach Tim Sherwood has told of his frustration about the speculation that continues to surround his future at White Hart Lane, Sky Sports is reporting.

Despite Sherwood having been handed a contract until the end of next season back in December, it has not stopped persistent rumours that he is set to be replaced by someone more experienced over the coming summer, with Ajax boss Frank de Boer the latest to be linked with the position.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino and Dutch national team coach Louis van Gaal are also said to be in the running, although the latter is now favourite for the vacant Manchester United manager’s job.

And Sherwood, who recently criticised other managers for touting themselves for his job, admits that he has been ‘disappointed’ by the constant speculation. He said: "When clubs are coming out and saying Tottenham have actually spoken to them and managers are coming out and saying they've spoken to them too, it's disappointing.

"Somewhere along the line someone is telling porkies, I don't know for sure. Tottenham are not making any comment on that until the season finishes. So I'm just carrying on as I normally do, being as professional as I can and preparing the team."

The 45-year-old also went on to reveal that the Tottenham hierarchy, including owner Daniel Levy, have not yet spoken to him over his future with the North London club.
