Newcastle United have unveiled their new away kit for next season, which will be first worn at Liverpool for the final Premier League game of the current campaign.

Newcastle away kit 2014-15

Made by PUMA, the kit is inspired by the design that was worn with distinction by some of Newcastle’s most iconic players of the 1980s including the prolific Peter Beardsley, Paul Gascoigne and Chris Waddle.

The words ‘Newcastle United Football Club 1892’ is featured as a pinstripe detail throughout the kit, which is all silver with black trim. There is also the addition of club accents placed on the upper back neck, the waistband of the shorts, and on the socks.

Supporters can pre-order the kit now through visiting www.NUFCdirect.com, with the general release date set for May 8, three days before the game at Anfield.

The club’s director of retail, Stuart Middlemiss said: “The new away kit is a celebration of one our most iconic shirt designs, with some of our most famous players in the modern era wearing the all silver kit between 1983 and 1988. I’m sure it will be extremely popular and that our players and supporters will be as equally proud to wear it.”

The kit is also designed to help enhance the performance of the players, as it incorporates PUMA dryCELL technology, which wicks and manages moisture away from the surface of the skin, helping the wearer to stay comfortable throughout each match.

PUMA UKIB Head of marketing Ruth How said of the design: “We’re extremely proud of the new away kit. Our design team were inspired by the club’s history, and their ambition to enhance player performance.”

Supporters can pre-order their 2014/15 away kit now by visiting www.NUFCdirect.com.
