Swansea vs Southampton - Premier League preview and team news

Now safe from the threat of relegation, Swansea City can relax as they take on eighth placed Southampton in their final home game of the season.

The form of record signing Wilfried Bony has been key to Swansea ensuring a fourth campaign of Premier League football, with the big striker netting a brace in each of their last two games. Interim boss Garry Monk has undoubtedly done his chances of being given the job on a full-time basis no harm whatsoever, as he got the Welsh club playing well again following the sour end to Michael Laudrup’s reign.

With eighth position all but secured for Southampton, this is another game for their vast collection of young starlets to take centre stage. Sam Gallagher is likely to earn another start in attack after giving a decent account of himself against Everton in what was a strong performance overall from the Saints, as two first half own goals delivered a well deserved 14th league win.

The Swans will be without Miguel Michu once again as well as Angel Rangel. Dwight Tiendalli is likely to come in along with Chico Flores after suspension.

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino could decide to name an unchanged team with Gaston Ramirez, Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin all sidelined by injury.
