Van Gaal wants Muller with him at Man Utd

Louis Van Gaal is planning on making Thomas Muller his first signing once he has been made Manchester United manager, The Daily Mail has revealed.

The Dutch manager has been strongly linked with the vacant post at Old Trafford since the departure of David Moyes last month and is expected to be announced as the new boss before the start of the World Cup in June.

And according to the Daily Mail, Van Gaal wants to bring German international Muller to United, with reports the midfielder is unhappy at Bayern under boss Pep Guardiola.

Muller was promoted from the youth ranks at Bayern by Van Gaal and helped him become established as one of the most consistent players at the Allianz Arena.

However under new man Guardiola, he has become frustrated at being one of the fringe players and being left out of some of Bayern’s key games this season.

The 24-year old has played 163 games for the Bundesliga club scoring 57 goals in his seven year spell there.
