Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is hoping to bring two big name signings to Stamford Bridge this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The Portuguese boss confirmed that he wished to bring at least one top-class striker to the club but refused to discuss any specific targets.

Despite all the rumours surrounding Chelsea bringing in Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa in the summer, Mourinho did not want to get drawn on one particular player and admitted that the club will be calm during the transfer window.

"Chelsea will be quite calm and quiet during that period. They won't be the noisy team selling and buying, buying and selling. We aren't going to be that kind of club,” said Mourinho.

"We are going to do, I would say, a couple of critical signings. Is a striker a target for us? Yes. Is Diego (Costa) a good player? Yes, he is but he's an Atletico Madrid player so I cannot say much."

Many have acknowledged that Chelsea are desperate for a recognised striker among their ranks, with Mourinho even noting that his forwards have underperformed this season.

Now he is currently facing a trophyless season as Chelsea boss after his Champions League semi-final exit only leaves the slim chance of the Premier League.

Although some will consider a season without glory as a failure, the 51-year-old has insisted that the club is facing a ‘transitional’ season and will be in better shape to win trophies next season.
