Norwich City manager Neil Adams has admitted that his side will need plenty of good fortune if they are to remain in the Premier League, BBC Sport has reported.

He was speaking after the Canaries managed to earn a point from a goalless draw at Chelsea, and thus retain hope of staying in the top-flight for a fourth successive season. However, it still seems an unlikely prospect, with Norwich having to beat Arsenal on the final day and hope Sunderland lose at home to both West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City.

The game at Stamford Bridge was one of few clear chances, with the hosts’ Andre Schurrle coming closest when his angled drive hit a post. Norwich, who rarely threatened despite the importance of the fixture, forced Mark Schwarzer into only one meaningful save, although they felt they should have had a penalty for John Terry’s first half challenge on Martin Olsson.

Reacting to the result, Adams said: "We need a bit of luck. We shouldn't be where we are. Hopefully things go our way and we have to make sure Sunday's game is a fantastic occasion."

"It keeps us going for sure. I thought the performance was outstanding. We had a game plan and virtually executed it to perfection. "We were so strong, so solid. Of course, we would have liked to cause Chelsea one or two problems more, but you're playing against one of the best sides in Europe."
