Bony agent confirms intention for striker to stay at Swansea
The agent of Swansea striker Wilfried Bony has confirmed that the £12m hitman has no intentions of leaving the Welsh outfit at this stage, according to Sky Sports.
Bony is the Swans’ record signing, arriving last summer from Vitesse Arnhem, and his impressive debut season in England has seen him bag 15 goals thus far, and links with the likes of Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have reflected his instinct in front of goal.
His agent Dalibor Lacina, however, has other plans for the Ivorian who will feature at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Lacina said: “We are very happy with what he achieved in his first season at Swansea. He's happy to stay there and it was a good decision to go there.
“He appreciates that Swansea are the club who gave him his chance in the Premier League. He will go to the World Cup in the summer and we think he can be even better next season. He has three years left on his contract and his situation is stable.”
Swansea play their final game of the season at Sunderland on Sunday knowing that the hosts could leapfrog them if the Black Cats are to triumph, assuming the north easterners can topple West Brom at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday evening.
Manager Garry Monk faces discussions relating to his future, having been appointed on an interim basis until the end of the season following Michael Laudrup’s departure in February.
