Hull vs Everton - Premier League preview and team news

Everton travel to face Hull City at the end of a season which both clubs can look back on fondly after exceeding expectations.

The Tigers have their big date at Wembley still to come, but they will want to end their Premier League campaign on a positive note, particularly as results have tailed away since they booked their meeting with Arsenal. The recent run of three defeats in four has left them 16th, their lowest position of the season, but overall this season has been a success, particularly as they were written off by many at the outset.

When Roberto Martinez targeted Champions League qualification as a realistic ambition for Everton, few believed him. He may not have delivered on that aim, but the Spaniard came so close as he brought a newfound feel-good factor around the blue half of Merseyside as well as their highest ever number of points in the Premier League era. For next season, he will just want his side to make that extra step.

Sone Aluko and James Chester are both likely to miss out for Hull and are doubtful for the FA Cup final. Allan McGregor, Robbie Brady and Joe Dudgeon are definitely sidelined.

For the visitors, Steven Pienaar and Lacina Traore could return after lengthy spells out injured, but Kevin Mirallas and Arouna Kone both miss out. Gareth Barry plays the final game of his loan spell, and he returns after being ineligible to face parent club Manchester City.
