Inter eyeing Man Utd defender Evra

By Stephen Donovan

Monday 12 May 2014

Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra could follow teammate Nemanja Vidic to Inter this summer after the Serie A club registered an interest in the France international, according to the Daily Express.

Patrice Evra

Vidic has already confirmed that he will leave the Premier League for the San Siro after eight and-a-half years with the club, and with Evra out of contract at the end of June, his future is now coming under considerable doubt, particularly after news emerged that Man Utd had made a £27m bid for Southampton’s Luke Shaw.

Evra is high on Inter’s list of summer transfer targets as they look to bridge the sizeable gap that has opened up between themselves and the top of Serie A. Rumours are rife that the Italian club’s president, Erick Thohir, has already held talks with Evra’s agent over a possible move.

It is thought that Evra would be keen to follow Vidic to Inter, which looks his most likely destination despite interest from former club Monaco. Should Evra leave, it would bring to an end a Man Utd career which began, like Vidic, in January 2006. In that time, he has won five Premier League titles and the Champions League among other trophies.
