Milner targeting more Man City silverware
Manchester City winger James Milner is targeting more silverware with the club as he enters the final year of his current contract, Sky Sports has reported.
The 28-year-old helped his side to a league and Capital One Cup double this season, coming on as a substitute as Man City clinched the Premier League title with victory over West Ham United on Sunday. They added to the league winner’s medal he won in 2012 and the FA Cup a year earlier.
Prior to his move to the Etihad Stadium, Milner had not won any silverware in spells with Leeds United, Newcastle United and Aston Villa, and he admits that the success he has enjoyed at Man City has made him hungry for more.
He said: "We have managed to win a few trophies along the way and that is why I came here, to win trophies. That's amazing. I just want to contribute as much as we can and play as many games as I can, and help the club to win trophies."
On Monday, Milner was selected in the England squad for the World Cup in Brazil this summer, completing a successful campaign in which he has made 44 appearances, scoring two goals.
