Toure Man City future in doubt

Wednesday 21 May 2014

After reports emerged that Yaya Toure’s Manchester City future could be in doubt it appears the player himself is unwilling to commit to the club after admitting he is unsure about where his future in the game could lie, Sky Sports.

The player’s agent has claimed this week that Toure is far from happy with the club’s treatment over his 31st birthday last week and is still yet to receive an apology or explanation.

Toure first moved to deny any reports insisting people should listen to what comes directly from him only, but has now admitted that his agent’s claims are actually true and his future has been cast into fresh doubt.

Agent Dmitry Seluk said: “He is upset he wasn't congratulated.

"He does a lot for Man City. It's very strange that staff don't shake hands and say congratulations on your birthday. It's not normal. Yaya is upset."

Toure had previously admitted that he would love to end his career at former club Barcelona, and has not moved to deny this is where he would want to play his football next.

A long term contract was only signed last April but there were rumblings under the surface then that the player was feeling a perceived lack of respect at the club – all these factors fueling a possible exit for the Ivory Coast international.

Toure said: “Because of the brilliant season Man City have had, everybody is talking about me and everything is open and we don't know tomorrow, but my focus is on the World Cup.

“I have said that in front of the camera before and I have said that to newspapers about ending my career there (Barcelona), but we don't know because football is moving fast and you never know about tomorrow.”
