Remy in talks with Arsenal and Liverpool
Arsenal and Liverpool have held talks with Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy over a possible summer move, according to the Daily Mail.
The Frenchman has just returned to Loftus Road after a loan spell in the Premier League with Newcastle United, for whom he scored an impressive 14 goals in 24 starts, helping the Magpies to a number of victories, particularly in the first half of the season.
He joined QPR in January 2013 from Marseille, but was unable to save them from relegation to the Championship last season. However, he still has three years left on his R’s contract, and could be prepared to stay in West London if the club secure promotion by winning Saturday’s Championship play-off final against Derby County.
Arsenal have long been linked with a move for Remy, who was spotted in the stands at the Emirates Stadium for their 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion on May 4. The Gunners are looking for a new striker to provide competition and support to Olivier Giroud.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are setting about trying to add depth to their squad after they came second in the Premier League this season, which means they will now be competing in the Champions League, which brings extra demands.
