Ajax boss Frank De Boer has insisted that he has had no contact from Tottenham over the possibility of filling their vacant manager’s position, BBC Sport has reported.

Former Head Coach Tim Sherwood parted company with Tottenham at the end of the season after guiding the club to sixth place and qualification for the Europa League. For several months, De Boer has been rumoured to high on Tottenham’s list of potential candidates to take over from Sherwood.

The former Dutch international defender has led Ajax to four consecutive Eredivisie titles since being appointed manager in December 2010, and the Amsterdam club revealed in January that an enquiry had been made by Tottenham.

Spurs were quick to deny the claims, and De Boer insists no contact has been made. When asked if he expected there to be contact in the coming weeks and months, he said: "I don't know. And I am happy with Ajax. If a club comes to speak to me I will listen to them, but I am going on holiday now and that is the most important thing for me."
