Chelsea make Lavezzi enquiry
Chelsea have made an enquiry to Paris St. Germain over a possible asking price for 29-year-old winger Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to the Daily Mail.
PSG are already on the brink of signing defender David Luiz from the Blues, but are also rumoured to be interested in sign goalkeeper Petr Cech and attacking midfielders Eden Hazard and Oscar, and should one of those players make the move to the French capital, Lavezzi could come the other way.
The Argentine, who will be part of an all-star attack at this summer’s World Cup, is keen to play in a more competitive league than Ligue 1, and thus would be open to a move to the club that knocked PSG out of this season’s Champions League.
Lavezzi has helped his side to the French title in both of his seasons at the club since joining from Napoli in 2012. In the process, he has scored 23 goals in 90 appearances, playing alongside the likes of Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is also keen on signing reported Manchester City target Eliaquim Mangala from FC Porto. The central defender is rated among the best in Europe, and Mourinho has reportedly turned his attentions to him after making no progress in attempts to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.
