Liverpool make Moreno offer
Liverpool have lodged a £16m offer for Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno, Football Espana has reported.
The deal would include midfielder Suso moving to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in exchange, according to reports in Spain. Suso has spent the season on loan with Almeria.
Sevilla are said to have turned down an offer from Napoli for the player in January but do expect Moreno to leave this summer.
Moreno is thought to want to move to Real Madrid but if there’s no offer from the Champions League winners, would consider the switch to the Premier League.
It’s understood that Liverpool fear a good World Cup showing for Moreno could push his price higher, spurring Brendan Rodgers’ side to make their approach now.
The 21-year-old has spent his entire career at Sevilla, a product of their youth academy, and has made fewer than 50 appearances for the club. Moreno also made his Spain debut in October, playing against Georgia as La Roja clinched a World Cup place.
Moreno has been included in Spain’s preliminary squad for the World Cup, with Spain playing Bolivia on Friday in a friendly at his home ground.
