Eto’o wants Arsenal move

Samuel Eto’o is said to be keen to move to Arsenal after he was released by Chelsea, the Daily Express has reported.

Samuel Eto’o

Eto’o moved to Stamford Bridge last summer, signing a one-year deal, and departed at the end of the season. The Express claim that Chelsea wanted to keep the Eto’o.

It’s also alleged that the Cameroon international hopes to be offered a place at the Emirates Stadium in order to take revenge of Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who made comments suggesting Eto’o was older than he said.

Eto’o has described Mourinho as a ‘puppet’ and a ‘fool’ since his left the Bridge but it’s not certain he will get his chance with the Gunners.

Arsenal are understood to be in the market for back-up to Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo, with Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy also on the agenda.

Eto’o made 35 appearances for the Blues, scoring 12 goals, having previously been at Anzhi Makhachkala. Eto’o’s career has also taken in Inter, Barcelona, Mallorca and a brief spell at Madrid.
