Wague wants Premier League move
Mali and Caen defender Molla Wague is hopeful of moving to the Premier League this summer, Sky Sports has reported.
The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and after helping his club to promotion to Ligue 1, Wague admits he is looking for a new challenge. “I am aware of the offers from England and of course it is attractive for me to play there, but I also received proposals from Europe,” he said.
“At the moment however, I have left my agents to do their work and I have been focusing on my duty with the national team. After I finish, we will carefully consider my options before deciding the next step in my career.”
It’s thought Crystal Palace are among those interested in the centre-back, as are newly-promoted Leicester City. Relegated Norwich City have also shown an interest in the French-born player, while clubs in France and Italy are also said to be monitoring the situation.
Wague has spent his entire senior career at Caen, making his professional debut in 2011. He played half-a-dozen times for France Under-19s but last year made his senior international bow for Mali, playing at the Africa Cup of Nations.
