Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has hinted that he could be playing for parent club Chelsea next season after suggesting that it may benefit his career to be at Stamford Bridge, Goal.com has reported.

Despite joining in the summer of 2011 when Andre Villas-Boas was manager, Courtois is still yet to play a first-team game for Chelsea, having spent each of his three seasons with the club on loan at Atletico Madrid, who he has helped to this season’s La Liga title and the 2013 Copa Del Rey.

Courtois, who is set to be Belgium’s No.1 goalkeeper at the World Cup ahead of Simon Mignolet, played against Chelsea for Atletico in the Champions League semi-finals in April, and there have been rumours that he could be set for a permanent move away from West London.

However, he has hinted at a return for next season despite Petr Cech’s status as first-choice goalkeeper. “We will talk after the World Cup, we’ll talk with Chelsea," he said. ‘We’ll see what happens, I can’t say right now. First the World Cup.”
