Remy ‘agrees terms with Arsenal’
Arsenal are believed to have agreed personal terms with Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy over a summer move to the Emirates Stadium, the Metro has reported.
The Frenchman is looking to move to a club taking part in next season’s Champions League, and although Liverpool and Tottenham were among those said to be interested, Arsenal look to have beaten their rivals to his signature.
Remy was in attendance on May 4 as Arsenal defeated West Bromwich Albion in their final home match of last season, an appearance which sparked rumours that he could be on his way to the red half of North London.
He has just returned to Loftus Road after spending the whole of last term on loan at Newcastle United, where his goalscoring contributions helped the Magpies to comfortable 10th place in the Premier League. Overall he scored 14 goals in his 27 appearances, a record which earned him a place in France’s squad for the World Cup.
The Gunners will now have to pay around £10m for Remy, who would add support and competition to the forward areas alongside first choice Olivier Giroud.
