Liverpool edge nearer to Shaqiri deal

Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri is close to becoming Brendan Rodgers’ third signing of the summer, The Daily Star report.

Shaqiri, 22, has admitted that he wants to leave Bayern this summer after failing to become a first team regular under Pep Guardiola and Liverpool have reportedly bid £15m for the winger who would be their third signing of the summer after already acquired Rickie Lambert and Emre Can from Southampton and Bayer Leverkusen respectively.

Shaqiri, who has 32 caps for Switzerland and will play at the World Cup in Brazil, has also had interest from Manchester United and a host of other clubs but Liverpool’s qualification for the Champions League may lure him towards Anfield.

Liverpool are also eyeing up moves for Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana and Sevilla left-back Albert Moreno but it is thought that the deal for Lallana will not be completed until after the World Cup with the deal for Moreno hoping to be done sooner rather than later in an £18m deal.

This sounds like a well written piece of journalism, informative, impartial and with integrity, however you then say it's taken from a quote in the STAR which means it's absolutely taken with a pinch of salt and is probably a week old and filled with the third rate journalist's own nonsensical opinions.
