Man Utd edge towards Shaw deal
Manchester United appear to be on the verge of singing Southampton left-back Luke Shaw after it was reported that personal terms of any potential deal have been agreed, according to Daily Star.
The teenage starlet impressed last season in his 38 appearances helping Southampton to keep 15 clean sheets – just three fewer than clean sheet topping Chelsea.
And his impressive displays have seen him edge ever closer to a switch to dethroned champions Manchester United after personal terms were reportedly agreed, seeing the 18-year-old paid £160,000 a week on a five year deal – making him the highest paid teenager in world football.
New United manager Louis Van Gaal will now be confident of snapping up the left back, with just the transfer fee to be agreed with the Saints.
The club originally rejected a £27m bid from United after the clubs drew 1-1 towards the end of the season, but having lost manager Mauricio Pochettino face an uphill battle to keep their stars.
The defender is currently part of England’s World Cup squad after his season earned him a call up ahead of the experienced Ashley Cole.
