England’s Hart to use Liverpool knowledge against Suarez

England goalkeeper Joe Hart has said he will tap into the knowledge of the Liverpool players in Roy Hodgson’s squad to try and stop Luis Suarez, according to ESPN.

Joe Hart and Luis Suarez clash last season

Uruguay international Suarez is expected to be fit for the second round of games in Group D, which pits the Three Lions against La Celeste despite undergoing knee surgery just a few weeks ago.

Hart feels that having a large number of Suarez’s Reds colleagues around the England camp could help limit the damage done by the Premier League’s top scorer. “The fact is we know Suarez and we know that he can be trouble,” Hart said.

“But knowing him doesn't make him any more trouble,” he added. “There'll be some familiarity, the Liverpool players will know him a lot better. I'm sure they'll give us their input on the different ways of stopping him. So hopefully that's only going to help.”

Hart went on to say that while England are well-versed with Italy, their first opponents, and Suarez’s Uruguay, the other team in the group, Costa Rica, are more of an unknown quantity. “It's fair to say we are more familiar with Italy. We know a bit about Uruguay because of the Suarez factor and Cavani,” he confirmed.

“Costa Rica are a bit more unknown at the moment. But we'll do our research,” Hart promised. “It's three really tough games - but it's a World Cup so you don't expect anything else. They're all dangerous, they all came through tough qualifying campaigns. Italy in Europe and the other two in South America. It's not easy to do that.”

The Costa Rica squad does however contain some somewhat familiar names, including Arsenal striker Joel Campbell, who scored for Olympiakos against Manchester United in last season’s Champions League, and Fulham forward Bryan Ruiz.
