Returning Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has refused to comment on mounting peculation surrounding his future stating he’d prefer to focus on chasing World cup glory with Belgium this summer, according to Sky Sports.

Courtois has spent the last three whole seasons in the goal of Atletico Madrid, after Chelsea continued to stick with Petr Cech as their main number one choice for the shot stopping jersey.

And since moving to Stamford Bridge from Genk back in 2011, he has never made a first team appearance for the club – compared to 111 for the new La Liga champions.

After yet another impressive season in Spain it is unclear whether he will finally get his chance at Chelsea, after talking to Jose Mourinho this year and deciding to head back to Ateltico.

However, he is refusing to comment on any speculation he may be in the Blues goal come the start of the new season, preferring to concentrate on representing dark horses Belgium at the World Cup.

“I will not talk about my future, this is not the time to talk about that,” Courtois stated.

"I’m here with the national team and we’re concentrating on the World Cup.

However the 22-year-old revealed the pair have recently held further talks about his future.

He said: “I spoke with him [Mourinho] in May, before the game against Barcelona. He discussed what he thinks about me and everything.”

“With my age and the performances I’ve had, I want to play. To be on the bench is not the nicest thing,” he added.
