Cesc Fabregas has vowed not to let Arsenal fans’ negative reaction to his shock move to Stamford Bridge affect him, according to The Daily Star.

Cesc Fabregas

The Gunners had a first-option clause in Fabregas’ contract at Barcelona, but decided not to re-sign their former midfielder, leading to the Spain international moving to Chelsea for £30m on Thursday. Arsenal fans have taken to social media to voice their frustration at their former hero’s latest move, posting pictures of old Arsenal shirts with Fabregas’ name on the back being burned in protest.

But Fabregas, who has also been a long-term target for Man Utd, says he is mature enough to brush off the negativity and focus on the World Cup before moving his attentions to his new life in west London.

“I'm mature enough for that [reaction] not to hurt. I have explained it well,” he told Cadena Cope.

“I've always been very loyal and grateful to Arsenal.

“There was a first option they could exercise - I talked with Arsene Wenger and he told me that the area was covered with Mesut Ozil - but there are always fans who want to cause trouble.”

The sight of Fabregas turning out against Arsenal in the blue of city rivals Chelsea will certainly be a strange one to the Gunners’ faithful, but the 27-year-old first has to focus on the World Cup with his native Spain defending their world title.

That defense was off to a bad start as they fell 5-1 victims to the Netherlands in their opening game, but have a chance to get back on track when they take on Chile on Wednesday evening.

For Fabregas to allege that he was always loyal and grateful to Arsenal is BIG mistake; how can a loyal and grateful player want pay off his contract just to force a transfer to Barcelona. This fool knows that; what he did a couple of years ago was stupid that is why his vomiting no sense to media trying to buy sympathy From Arsenal fans. Shame!!!!!!!!!!!
