Man Utd will reject Real Madrid Januzaj approach

Manchester United will resist any attempt by Real Madrid to sign Belgium winger Adnan Januzaj, according to the Daily Mail.

It’s been suggested the Champions League winners have identified the 19-year-old as a summer transfer target but United don’t want to lose Januzaj, who is currently representing his country at the World Cup.

He only made his United debut in September but signed a long-term deal at Old Trafford a matter of months ago. Januzaj made 35 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring four goals, having moved to the club from Anderlecht in 2011.

Januzaj could have represented one of a number of nations at international level, including Turkey, Albania, Serbia and Kosovo, but eventually chose Belgium in time to feature at the World Cup. He made his first appearance under Marc Wilmots in a pre-World Cup game against Tunisia but was an unused substitute in Belgium’s World Cup opener against Algeria, which Belgium won 2-1.

He had appeared in a 5-1 World Cup warm-up win over Luxembourg, a game in which Romelu Lukaku scored a hat-trick, but the fixture was changed from an international friendly to a non-cap game after Belgium used seven substitutes rather than the permitted six.
