Balotelli’s Arsenal move is ‘possible’
Mario Balotelli could return to the Premier League with Arsenal this summer, his agent has said, according to the Daily Mail.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is said to be in the market for a new striker to support Olivier Giroud next season and Italy and Milan forward Balotelli is among the names mentioned. He formerly played in England for Manchester City, winning the title under Roberto Mancini in 2011-12.
Mino Raiola suggested Balotelli was flattered to be linked to Arsenal and hinted a move could go through. “Arsenal are a fantastic club,” Raiola said. “Will a transfer happen? Anything is possible.”
Milan are understood to be happy to sell Balotelli as they want to get the Italy international’s wages off the books. Arsenal will establish the cost of the proposed deal before it goes ahead, the newspaper adds.
Balotelli began his senior career at Lumezzane, making only two appearances before he switched to Inter. He scored 28 goals in 86 games for the Nerazzurri, moving to City in 2010. The 23-year-old claimed 30 goals in 80 games for City and has scored 30 in 54 for Milan.
He also has 13 goals in 31 games for Italy, including the winner as Italy beat England in World Cup Group D last week.
